Working and Walking Together
This exciting collaboration between the Johnson House and the Germantown Mennonite Historic Meetinghouse was launched in the summer of 2010. The summer program provides groups of students to study the ways that Germantown residents have worked walked together over the years – from the early settlers that established the community to the Underground Railroad travelers and workers who transformed it into a “beacon of hope.”

As a part of the Working and Walking Together program, students had the opportunity to participate in the Ubuntu Project, which seeks to create a memorial to those who traveled on the Underground Railroad.

History Hunters Youth Reporter Program
The Johnson House is one of four sites that participates in the History Hunters program, an opportunity for Philadelphia fourth and fifth grade elementary school students to explore Germantown’s history through its fabulous house museums.  The program is a curriculum based program.
